AI-Generated People and Voices
People appearing in AI-generated videos may be digital presenters, generated characters, licensed avatars, actors, or composites rather than real employees, customers, professionals, or experts.
Synthetic or licensed voices may be used for narration or dialogue.
A person's voice or likeness will not knowingly be cloned for a client project without appropriate authorization.
AI Spokesperson Content
An AI spokesperson may communicate approved information about a product, service, brand, or offer.
The presence of an AI spokesperson does not mean the presenter:
- Personally used the product
- Is a real customer
- Is an employee
- Is a licensed professional
- Independently endorses the product
- Has personal knowledge beyond the approved script
Testimonial-Style Videos
Testimonial-style videos are created to resemble the conversational structure of social media or customer-style content.
They must not be falsely represented as genuine customer experiences.
A video may be described as a real testimonial only when it is based on the truthful, authorized experience of an actual customer and is represented accurately.
The FTC does not generally prohibit AI avatars in advertising, but their use may be deceptive when they communicate a false testimonial or mislead consumers about the presenter's identity or experience.

AI-assisted work may contain a combination of human-created and AI-generated elements.
Copyright and ownership may depend on human authorship, creative selection, arrangement, modification, applicable law, third-party licenses, and the terms of the client agreement.
The U.S. Copyright Office states that generative-AI output may be protected when sufficient expressive elements are determined by a human author, including some creative arrangements or modifications, but not through prompts alone.
